My journey as an artist is continually evolving and I am constantly looking to challenge my own perceptions to my own art practice.
As an artist I take inspiration from the natural world around me. My work depicts the power and forces inflicted on the environment, the unpredictable motion of the ocean mid storm, the cascade of a waterfall or the ripple of a brook.
I am drawn to shape and form of rocks, pebbles, standing stones and the way they are affected by what coexists around them.
I like to use variety of medium to capturing the raw power of nature, applying it broadly and quickly attempting to replicate the energy that I am trying to encapsulate. Other mediums used in my art practice include watercolour and graphite. Frantically applied painterly or impasto techniques contrast with calmer more deliberately painted methods.
